download stib's free Final Cut Pro plugins
the small print

All of the content on this page is free and open source, but please read the licence. Basically it boils down to: you can do what you want as long as you keep it open source and include the original license, but if you use the code in these plugins for a commercial product, you owe me money. And my big brother is a lawyer, so watch it orright. Oh and these plugins are not for use by or for any military organisation. You guys get enough of the world's resources as it is without me contributing. Yes, even if you think you're one of the good guys.

These Plugins were written with Final Cut Pro 3, 4 and 5, and they seem compatible with all of those versions, and iMovie too I believe. YMMV. Bug reports are most welcome. Well, not welcome obviously, but they will be helpful, I guess.

installing

Please read the readme file that comes with them, it will tell you how to install and use the plugins. I do give free support but I will very politely tell you to RTFM if you ask something schtoopid. Not that there is a manual yet.

For those who have no time for reading readmes: don't try double clicking them, it won't work. Move them to the Final Cut Pro plugins directory and you'll be sweet.

I do requests If you need a particular plugin, tell me about it, but I'm nearly always flat out, so if you want it in a hurry you'll have to pay me.
What do they all do? I'm glad you asked. Check out my revamped demos page to get an idea. As I said, the manual is vapourware at the moment
add your name to my mailing list if you want to be alerted when there is a new version of these scripts avaliable.
How can I help?

Have a hack! Let me know if you come up with anything good, and I'll point a link your way.
If technical writing is your bag, why not have a go at making a manual?
Or..

..you can donate what you think they're worth. I'm a busy animator with kids to upgrade and a render farm to feed, but with downloads since mid may last year, if everybody kicked in even just a couple of dollars, I could actually afford some time to make you more and better new plugins (think motion dynamics, think particle effects, think motion tracking..)

For any version of Final cut pro

Apple in their infinite wisdom changed the file format for FCP plugins. My plugins are written in Final Cut version 5, so they're not compatible with older versions.

Use these plugins with any version of FCP: they're actually text files, but as long as the'yre in the final cut pro plugins folder they'll load up.
